Costanza Alessio

Costanza earned her BA in Psychology from Florida International University in 2019. Since then, she has worked as a research assistant in labs investigating cognitive performance in high demand populations, and social phenomena in minorities and underrepresented communities. Currently pursuing a PhD in Legal Psychology at FIU, her focus includes investigative and intelligence-gathering techniques, deception detection, and courtroom decision-making.

Tori Carlson

Tori earned her BS in Psychology with minors in Accounting and Leadership from Central Michigan University. Her undergraduate research sparked an interest in best practices for interviewing and interrogation. These research interests brought Tori to FIU where she began the Legal Psychology PhD program in the Fall of 2019. She is currently examining interpreters’ memories in the context of interrogations, perceptions of intoxicated suspects, and interviewer informedness in witness interviewing. 

Devon LaBat

Devon received her B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Iowa State University. She is pursuing a PhD in Legal Psychology at FIU. Her research interests broadly include jury decision making, interrogations and false confessions, and topics related to police psychology. 

Maria Sparacino

​Maria earned her BS in Psychology with a minor in Intelligence and National Security Studies from Coastal Carolina University in 2019. She is interested in investigative interviewing, intelligence-gathering techniques, and deception detection.
